Cuba tiene entre sus objetivos inmediatos incrementar la independencia energética, disminuir los costos en ese sector y aumentar la seguridad del suministro.

El director de Energía Renovable del Ministerio de Energía y Minas de Cuba, Rosell Guerra, durante el contexto de la Cumbre sobre energía e infraestructura en Cuba, afirmó que existe una política coherente al respecto.

Guerra dio la bienvenida a empresarios de 14 países de América Latina y Europa, que durante dos días se reúnen en el Hotel Meliá Cohiba, de La Habana, para explorar las posibilidades de inversión energética en el país.

En el foro el director de Energía Renovable del Ministerio de Energía y Minas de Cuba, apuntó que la Isla está comprometida con el desarrollo sostenible, y cuenta con una política apropiada para el desarrollo de las fuentes renovables de energía, cuando la eficiencia energética constituye una prioridad.

Sobresale rama energética cubana

Las potencialidades cubanas para los inversionistas extranjeros interesados en la actividad energética, fueron expuestas este jueves en La Habana, por funcionarios del Ministerio de Energía y Minas (MINEN) en un encuentro con empresarios de 25 naciones.

Ramsés Montes Calzadilla, director de Políticas y Planificación Energética del MINEN, informó que esa estrategia está en correspondencia con los proyectos de desarrollo de la economía cubana hasta el 2030.

Explicó que actualmente se totaliza solo un 4.5 por ciento, principalmente a través del uso de la biomasa cañera, actividad en la cual se centran las mayores esperanzas de incrementos en los próximos años.

Al intervenir en la Cumbre para la Inversión Energética en Cuba, Montes Calzadilla indicó que los planes futuros contemplan, además, el empleo de las energías eólica, fotovoltaica e hidráulica.
